For the steampunk-ish look of Last Exile, I decided to use the hotel stairwell (they're such good places for pictures in general), integrating the random pipes. The bright red of the pipes would look more fitting for Mirror's Edge than Last Exile, but along with the overall warm tone of the picture, I think they look ok.

It was lit I think with just one light aimed at the wall behind them. I wanted to have the sort of wrap-around backlit look, because I like that a lot for intimate feeling pictures. But I didn't want the background blown out. So, the bright part of the wall is just off the bottom of the frame. (er... and a bit to the left of the frame. oops.) Camera angle helps both in avoiding that bright part and to integrate the pipes and such in the background.
